Is it best to repair rusted parts yourself, or by buying the part?
My car has heavy inflicted rust area with giant holes. I was thinking of repairing it myself by buying a welder, grinder, and a wheel sander, and just use sheet metal to replace the areas. But my dad said that he saw the same car at the junkyard for $400 dollar, and that I should buy it for the parts.
Which one should I do?
Should I sand it, then cut it with a grinder, then weld the sheet metal onto the area? Or buy the car at the junkyard and just replace the parts?

Well if it is an old car Classic then buy the parts car.. even if you just repair the rust your self. The word is out in the Car forums that there crushing all the old cars to get them off the street. So the average person can not work on there own stuff with all the computer and EFI cars out there a lot of people can not work on them and have to take them to a shop costing them out the yeng-yang..
So If its a classic then buy the parts car.. Even if its not a classic but an older car.
